Leave it to TP to put a positive spin on a commercial that makesa joke out of the car and the people who drive it! If that commercial had been for a Chevy Impala you'd have heard his mouth all over the valley!

Actually, the commercial was pretty funny. So how did the commercial make a joke out of the car? If any US car had made the same commercial, I'd have had the same thoughts completely.

The problem is lots of American cars are jokes. Have been for decades and therefore they lost tremendous market share. That isn't opinion it is fact.

No, the problem is most ITistas are jokes. And your prejudiced ass wouldn't know how to have a positive thought about an American car so don't even go there.Let's face facts here. Bigal posted some pretty cheesey commercials about some pretty cheesey cars. I wonder if they actually paid the guy who ok'd those for public viewing?

Here's a cool GM Camaro ad for you macho unionistas.

And Justsaying, the Toyota Corolla is the best selling car of all time. Hardly cheesy and that's a FACT not an OPINION.

Evidently only your Opinion since they sell like hotcakes.

Opinion and what does cheesy mean? Do they come with cheese? The Cavalier and Cobalt are cheesy and junk. (fact)

No I don't. Nor was the Vega, the Pinto, the rollover machine Explorer, Pacer, Gremlin, Yugo, and many many others.

Amazing how quiet those Toyotas are..ruthie

ruth, if you REALLY believe that ANY car is THAT quiet, then you are one of those simple-minded people you like to make fun of.

As for the Camaro "commercial," you should have read the link contents better, College-educated ITista," the videos were created by a Camaro enthusiast to promote a gay celebration..not Chevrolet. You'll also notice that GM made them pull the videos, citing them as in bad taste.

Besides, "Mr. I have several gay friends," why would you denigrate something like that if you really aren't biased against gays? Hypocrite.

Oh, and you also forgot the one Toyota ad that I posted yesterday, showing a guy hitting on a transvestite.

Of course no car would be that quiet. You really parse every word don't you?

Read every word Al, GM provided them the Camaro for the commercial. Then didn't like the gay references because they thought it might offend non gays and cost them car sales. That's what I've been saying about the fact we must be politically correct nowadays.

I'm all for gay rights Al as a liberal and have many gays friends also.

As usual, you missed the point. All car makers make commercials that they eventually pulled from the market.

..and you buy tires for poor black men..don't forget that.

Ad YOU, as usual, missed the point.

You just stated that "ALL car makers make commercials that they eventually pulled from the market."

So, why wasn't that taken into consideration when you went on your diatribe about burning rubber and scantily-clad models?

Oh, and please post links to ANY U.S.-made ad that shows burning rubber. And as for women in commericials, do I even have to go into a dissertation about the history of sex and advertising in general?

I am a fan of American Made vehicles, especially GM, as a family member has worked there for 30 some years. However, I must say there marketing is subpar. Right now, I think volkswagen has the best commercials. And apparently TP hasn't driven a corolla lately. There crap. And the Cobalt SS is actually very nice although the base cobalt needs a bit of work.

Really, all this boils down to is opinion. You could spin it either which way you want to, by looking at biased reports all day long, each of which stroke either American or foreign vehicles.

After doing research, I couldn't find an American vehicle that offered me what I was looking for, so I went German. There are definitely junk cars produced by both. When you get into mid and high end cars, I feel that foreign vehicles are superior. Take it for what it's worth. It really comes down to what fits you best. I personally wanted a reliable vehicle with a high resale, so that's why I bought what I bought.

All major automobile manufacturers are unionized in their home countrys and resist unions outside their home, a fact that the Trolls ignore.

Like taking candy from a baby. I guess you forgot about the Mustang ads where the father and son are in a parking lot and they peel out?

[101publicrelations.com]

Actual dialog:
Another great Mustang ad shows father-and-son behind the wheel doing burnouts in a parking lot. They come to a stop and the father says to the son 'Now that's what I mean. This thing is not a toy! (pause) You wanna go again?'

That was just the Mustang. Want more?
