Bob Fitzer was the real deal. Unlike so many others in our community whose fake advocacy has such a unabashed self-interest, Bob had a true love for this area.

The Vindicator downplayed Fitzer's Cafaro roundtable outing, which it continues to do by interviewing Zamary (fake advocate) and slezily re-quoting Cafaro puppet George McKelvey. Bob was proud until the day he died about his outing this Cafaro event which was really a fake advocate convention.

The current Cafaro crap they are spewing over the McKinley Plaza deal is a result of the Vindicator downplaying Bob's outing of the Cafaro roundtable. If the Vindicator condemed this obvious Cafaro ring kissing event, Cafaro's would have understood that pulling these "above the law and public interest" ploys would not play in the press. Instead Cafaro's learned not to worry as the Vindicator will cover for them.

Bob, this town and I will miss you. You were a trusted friend to all. No one had to ever guess where you were coming from. For the Vindicator and Zamary to try to tarnish your name to further cover Cafaro's name even after your death would actually make you proud. You were a man of conviction with more courage than I.

I regret not making the time to tell him how proud his family was of him.

This article made me very angry. Why should he be remembered for something negative such as this incident?? And this article is incorrect in saying he only focused on his music in his later years! He was an amazing musician and music educator! He could have had his choice of a principal chair in any major orchestra in the country, but he chose to be here in the area that he loved. His astounding musicianship has been the best kept secret in the country. Never in my life will I meet another person as passionate and as caring as Bob Fitzer. He always put others before himself. He was not only a teacher, but he was a second father to me and to all of his clarinet students. His clarinet studio raised over $3,000 for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Youngstown this year - this was done in honor of him, in the city that he cared so much about, and in hopes of finding a cure for the awful cancer that cut his life so short. Let's remember him for better things, and not talk about negative instances. Words cannot begin to describe what an amazing person Bob Fitzer was. We should all strive to be more like him.

The reason why the vindy reports and writes what it does is for one reason...money. It's a business who's sole purpose is to make money. Some people are mistakenly under the impression that it provides a service to the community by reporting the news.

The only negative respond is about the vindy, and that's to be expected.

All three of my kids tooks music lessons from him. He was tough on them and would scold them whne he knew they did not practice. My kids, like like all the kids he gave private lessons to, became first and second seat for their instrument. These kids are his legacy.
When these kids go on to become great musicians, this is how Fitz will live on and on.

Shame on Vindy for such stupid remarks. Especially quoting McKelvey. Why not ask Cafaro's mommy to put down a dead man who sought the truth. One which the Vindy and the Cafaros sadly continue to fight after Fitz's death.

Fitz, we will all miss you.
Heaven has just became a better place.
