How long until this guy or his family sue the Austintown Police and Fire Departments?

I'm guessing there is a gaggle of lawyers outside the hospital as we speak.

I want to sue him for making me waste gas while waiting in traffic for his stupid ass. I wont even mention the fact that he could have dented my Escalade by jumping.

Darwin's theory has just been dis-proven!

Thanks for the laugh. I feel for you all there. In D.C. we occasionally get jumpers who tie up traffic for miles and miles which shuts the city byways DOWN! If you're going to jump from a bridge please do it after RUSH HOUR.

For all of you saying you have no compassion or “just jump”, you are cold-hearted and selfish. I don’t know the circumstances or background in this case, but I would venture to say, neither do you. As one poster said, this is a father and husband. If as the one poster said they are so worried about “loosing” income and it “effects” families, remember this family and how this will AFFECT them. It is also interesting to see that this (along with everything else in the news) is Bush’s fault.

I’m the passerby that called 911…Seeing this man on the wrong side of the fence is an image that I can’t get out of my mind…I couldn’t stop, I had my 3yr old and 5yr old in the car, and did not want them to see what was going on…I grabbed my cell phone and called 911 and went home with the quilt that I had left this man, oh how I prayed for him….I urge all of you to pray for him and his family as they experince this time of crisis. Thank God he did not jump into the fast moving traffic on I-80 or so many more lives could have been lost or damaged…The sad part is that so many people drove by and where so busy with their lives, that they didn’t notice a man climbing along the bridges fencing…when I saw him he was clinging to wrong side and looking down…I am greatful for the fast response, so that traffic was stopped, and I am greatful that he will have another chance in life, I hope he can find the help that he needs.

Jane-

Are you one of those charlatan psychologists who diagnose him as "a sick man" from afar? What qualifies you to say that. Maybe he is just weak and cowardly. Your post, Jane, has not induced me to summon up any sympathy or compassion for Ole Eddie Boy.

Like Char, I too have sympathy & compassion for those "WHO WERE STUCK IN THE TRAFFIC FOR HOURS IN NEARLY 90 DEGREE HEAT. MOST LATE FOR WORK LOSING INCOME, WHICH IN RETURN AFFECTS THIER FAMILIES."

These folks are bravely working through their own problems, are trying to make a living, and did not deserve to become embroiled in the problems of Ed the Coward, who HAD a choice, made it, but could not even successfully "off" himself. He is the selfish one....

PS: Marissa, since you are so emotionally invested in this botched suicide, I recomment\d you avoid this particular discussion.

As Jack Nicholson once said, "You can't handle the truth."

This guy was either comppletely out of his mind on drugs or just LOOKING FOR ATTENTION. If he seriously wanted to kill himself, he would NOT attempt to do so by falling 20 feet. That definitely won't do it. How about a CLIFF, or A BOTTLE OF PILLS AND SOME ALCOHOL, or SOME CARBON MONOXIDE or A ROPE AND A BEAM???Those are sure things 90% of the time, NOT a 20 foot drop. Duh!! He is a complete idiot. My husband was stuck in traffic for 2 hours because of this ignorant, inconsiderate, bozo. PATHETIC. I hope he is EMBARRASSED AS ALL HELL.

This post is a hoot! Imagine the nerve of some person holding up traffic to contemplate life and death! You're pissed off that your hubby got stuck in traffic and HE'S the ignorant Bozo!? I hope you are "embarrassed as all Hell" and if by chance, you consider yourself a Christian, Hell is likely where you'll be setting up house in the hereafter.

Your not a Christian telling people they are going to hell. "judge not least ye be judged."
