"No wonder this area is in the shape it's in. Many of the residents are too stupid to know any better. Displaying the amateurish paint spatterings of a convicted felon as "art" proves it."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason "this place is in the shape that it is in" has to do with globalization and NAFTA;Jimbo fought hard against the outsourcing of jobs.
And, the reason that Jimbo is a "convicted felon" has nothing to do with "alleged bribery," but with Jimbo's efforts on the behalf of a constituent, Cleveland auto worker John Demjanjuk, who was being framed by the FBI's Office of Special Investigations as the fictitious "Ivan the Terrible."
Jimbo and his investigators had recovered exculpatory evidence--trashed in a dumpster behind OSI offices--that exonerated Demjanjuk. That evidence, submitted to the Israelis, allowed Jimbo to travel to Israel and save Demjanjuk from the hangman's noose. Jimbo then escorted Demjanjuk back to Cleveland.
Janet Reno and the FBI/OSI were willing to have an innocent man swinging from a hangman's noose in Tel Aviv. Shame on them!
As for Jimbo's bribery conviction, there was NO evidence!
There was "hearsay" testimony from witnesses that were threatened by Craig Morford and his "handlers" at the FBI/OSI. That was borne out in the testimony of Richard Detore before the House "ethics" committee, which ignored his testimony and voted to censure, anyway. Richard Detore was later acquitted of charges by Morford in a separate trial.
Not one shred of "corroborative" evidence was ever entered to support the government's "tainted" testimony of a Traficant bribe. There was no video evidence;there was no audio evidence;there were no fingerprints;and, there was no paper trail.Nothing but perjured testimony from government witnesses that had received threats from the FBI and IRS to "get Traficant!"
As for Jimbo's art, I like what I see. That's good enough for me. Beauty, like art, is in the eyes of the beholder.
Withholding art supplies form Jimbo is, IMO, cruel and unusual punishment.
