Take a picture of a driver leaving downtown and heading to Boardman via Market St. on the Southside. How about a driver leaving a show downtown and heading down Oak St. towards Campbell. I was downtown in early June....I'm good for at least two years.

I thought downtown Youngstown closed in the mid 80's. I remember Strouss, Higbees, Lums, Lustigs, Livingstons, and the Italian Restaurant. Are they back?

The video may be good but downtown is not. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig.

I couldn't agree better, in fact, that's funny. Why sooooooooooooooooooo much publicity about downtown? Whoopee! So what? No matter how you gussie it up, you can't shine sh--! What you need is a video about the lazy ass cops in this town that are giving carte blanche to the thugs to kill innocent people. To do drive-bys on kids, Damn! Where is the video on that. Are you more concerned about bringing downtown in such a positive light that other sides of town continue to suffer injustice? This is all Jaybird's dumb idea, but he's sooooooooooooo smart. And the boys in D.C wants our troops to secure freedom and safety in Iraq and other foreign soil, and we can't even be protected in our own city? Something here is amiss. Its just high time for the mayor to resign because he's not working out, and i'm sick of people saying its McKelvey and Ungaro to blame. Hello, these 2 our not in office ok?

Denise Dick,

“Videos of downtown Ytown after 5 p.m. are a big hit?”

A big hit with whom? William D’Avignon?

You do not offer any facts to support this assertion.

IF you can prove your assertion, please do so.

Bill Crawford

BTW: How much does the Community Development Agency pay its shills?

I can't believe it, Difference Maker actually made a VALID POINT in the midst of the negativity and bile that's become his stock and trade:

>>Are you more concerned about bringing downtown in such a positive light that other >>sides of town continue to suffer injustice?

Something similar is happening, IMO, in Harrisburg, PA.

PS. I have an idea for a way to "stand up" to folks like Difference and many of the the other "Doomsdayers" that frequent this forum--but you'll need to wait on that (and may require me to finally register on this site)

Why is it that the majority of the people in this area want the area to continue to decline? Every time something seems to be positive all of the cockroaches come out of the woodwork.

While I no longer live in Youngstown, I enjoy to go downtown when I am home. There are good and positive places to go and enjoy. Maybe if you got off your couch and got a little more proactive in the community, things would be better.

I chose to leave Youngstown as a career and family decision. I love the place that I live in now, but Youngstown will always be my "home town". Quit bitching, quit complaining and do something, but I guess it is easier to sideline quarterback than to actually get out and perform some work.

Give Jay Williams some time, the man is young, bright and articulate (the traits that most of you who complain about only wish that you could have). It is time to rise up and support the Youngstown metro area, so instead of constantly being part of the problem, try to be part of the solution.

Just my 2-cents
