This is wrong wrong wrong !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again the people of Mahoning County will lose jobs , where are the officals the state senators the congress man our represenatives to protect our jobs? Why is it ok for one organization to gobble up another organization , not even live in our valley let alone our state, and consolidate, close, elimanite, jos, these are people, lives, families, dedicated workers to a busIness a organization our valley. These people made a decision years ago to dedicate their lives to that company this valley, their monies went to the local grocery stories, car dealerships, retail business taxes, real estate and where or who is speaking up to help these people and this lost business.I for one am sick of this kind of business, fill your pockets with all you can take as much as you can forget the other working people ,I am sick of the Paris Hiltons of the world , we are the majority being eaten up by the chosen few , and we watch and shake our heads in disbelief and turn the page, When or where does it really concern or affect you? PERHAPS WHEN IT IS YOUR JOBS YOUR HOMES YOUR FAMILY . I SAY TAKE THE SEVERENCE PACKAGES, TAKE THE UNEMPLOYMENT AND GO ON WELFARE AND LET THE GOVERMENT TAKE CARE OF YOU ,why not , you deserve a break , of yes BOYCOT THOSE STATIONS THEIR SPONSORS AND AFFILATES.......

Maybe WYTV should change its slogan to "We morn for this Valley". Start blowing up the giant inflatable rat!

That's capitalism! The continual focus on more and more money. Either you support capitalism and its concept that workers are nothing more than disposable parts of the organization or you don't.

When your neighbor loses his job it's a recession. When you lose your job it's a depression.

I agree with this post. I plan on boycotting this station. I have been watching this station for years. The dedicated anchors, and other employees deserve better. I am disgusted with the treatment of them. These are our neighbors, our friends, my children's school mates. Something needs to be done to stop this kind of thing. I understand that the same company also bought WKBN. I will not watch that station anymore either. It seems that the only "true" local station is WFMJ.

A town of 80,000 that makes no real news doesn't need 3 news operations.

Perhaps we don't need three stations , this is true, although there are other communities that depend on these three stations, many people do not have the luxuary of having cable television , not to mention what it means when one oners group will own the news , will we have only one point of view for whats going on in the news now? I notices the new sister station to wytv isn't saying much not to mention the"other "channel, don't people realizr sooner or later, and in the valley it is sooner its going to be your job. What then will it matter to you or should we all take the stance that perhaps we didnt need the business your company was in, perhaps they dint need your job that you too are expendable?

I can't imagine I am the only one that watches FNC, CNN, and MSNBC for news.
I don't want to see anyone out of a job save Al Sharpton, but Local Newa has been dead to me since I had Dish Network 10 years ago and they dodn;t offer local channels at the tiem. New York channels are just so muck better.
At this time I would say give us Erie or Wheeling and possibly PIT or CLE stations.
Local news informs me of very little if nothing at all.

YTV and KBN are the only stations worth watching if you MUST do local news. I rarely watch them for news simply because I am not imterested in local junk. FMJ spends too much time on local garbage and their anchors rot. BTW, who gives a rat's a** if it's locally-owned? As if that makes it better?
