What a JOKE!

I am 40 now and grew up on the lower east side of Youngstown. Specifically, Rigby Street up until 1980 and then my family moved to Hillman where things weren't much better.

There has always been a problem with vacant housing in Youngstown. No one wants to buy one for more than 50k.

Just look at the population decline in the last 10 years. Yeah, overpriced foreclosures may be a problem in most of the country, but Youngstown isn't one of those places.

It's this sort of IGNORANT thinking that keeps the city the way it is.

Oh, and by the way, stop including Austintown, Boardman, and everywhere else out of the problem area out of the numbers.

I moved away in 1985 for a reason and have no plans of ever coming back to raise my children in a crime infested city in denial.
