I am so saddened to hear of this. Rev. Powell was a wonderful woman, who had a genuine love for God -- and for her fellow human beings.

RIP, Rev. Powell.

I am heart broken over the passing of such a wonderful woman. Rev. Powell was a tell it like it was person and didn't bit her tongue. She's going to be greatly missed by all who knew her.

RIP REV.POWELL.

I too am saddend to hear of Rev Powell's death. I first met her on my first trip to Youngstown almost 15 years ago. I was visiting my wife's family for the first time. After a few minutes with Reverend Powell I felt very humbled and blessed by the experience.

Out of respect for the deceased and their mourning family let us not try to judge and drag their name in the dirt. Instead of defacing Rev.Powell's legacy I will attempt to speak of her dedication to the ministry. The Rev.Powell I knew was a woman of God who never hesitated to render the word of God to those in need. She was a very sweet, loving and forgiving person and would turn her cheek from such unwarranted comments.I pray that her family is comforted knowing that she will be joining her Heavenly Maker!

Oops! I am so sorry for my previous post! I was trying to give birthday wishes to an OP of another thread who is celebrating her birthday today.

My sincere condolences to the friends and family of Rev. Mrs. Powell -- it sounds like she was well-loved and respected. May she rest in peace.

Rev. Powell was the sweetest, most giving woman I have ever met. She opened her door to me a few years ago, and I've never forgotten her kindness. She will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace, Rev. Powell.

Rev. Powell was a true role model. A true child of God. I have known her since I was born in 1957. My parents lived next to her brother-in-law and when she opened her church in 1962, we became members. I still consider myself a member although I live out of state. My brother attends World Fellowship and is a pastor there. She was a role model for so many of us on the south side and her sermons were life lessons. Everyone knew and respected Rev. Powell, everyone. I really didn’t realize her impact until I was a parent and brought my children back to Youngstown one summer. After meeting Rev. Powell my oldest daughter and Rev. Powell would write one another.
Rev. Powell was a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a sister, a friend, a mentor, and most of all, a true person of God.
Daddy Marion has been waiting for you in heaven and now that your work is done, you can join him. Rest in Peace.
