Foolishness.

The Youngstown schools have failed.

They can not be fixed without qwhite parent intervention and that doesn't exist.

They are destined to be state run for the rest of their existance until Youngstown finally goes belly up which is coming.

Vote NO.

None of these folks are qualified, in my opinion. They should turn the schools over to the state. Things aren't getting any better. Everything is connected. The city schools are going to continue to fail. People are going to keep pouring out of here because of the lack of jobs, crime, and poor quality of life. Less revenue is going to come in. The better students are not going to YSC. It's a viscious cycle. Taxpayers cut your losses now.

I would agree that this isn't a stand out field, however, we must look at who brings to the table a clear-cut plan that will get our school system back on its feet. Personally, even after reading his responses on the vindy survey and listening to him speak at a local forum, I really believe Anthony Catale will do a great job for us. He brings a new vision that we so desperately need. I don't care about his age. It doesn't take a middle-aged person to recognize the problems that we are faced with and what needs to be done to correct them. Certainly it isn't a matter of being educated since Mr. Catale is almost done completing coursework for his BA. I actually believe I read somewhere that he is a double-major. That experience puts him above several members currently on the board and couples him with I believe Shelley Murray and Monica Neives who are the only ones with a college education. Let's get it done as voters and put forth new leadership in our schools.

I'll bet that none of these School Board Candidates are College Educated...there are some dumb butt cracks in Youngstown!
