We have to do something about the high gas prices. Combined transportation is a reasonable action. I wish they could make it more efficient and easier to access.

Park n Ride routes work great in many big cities. Use a place like Lordstown as an example. Workers would drive to a designated parking lot and take a bus to work. The bus would return them at shift end.

Don't drive 1 in 5 programs work well also. Change the 8 hour shift to a 10 hour shift to fulfill a 40 hour work week in 4 days. Hence 1 less driving day.

Even if the combination served 50 percent of drivers, just look at the cost savings.

I would love if my job would allow for 4 day work weeks.
In fact In my next monthly corporate meeting, when I am asked to talk about the issues that face my company and exchange ideas about what we can do to maintain and grow my company's position in the industry I will bring up the idea of a 4 day work week.
Will I be Cheered or Jeered?

When you bring it up at the meeting, suggest altering the work week so you have a Monday through Thursday team and a Tuesday through Friday team. You may find more interest if the area is covered 5 days a week.

I did something similar where I managed a department to cover 7 days a week. Worked great. Good luck..
