no U, Voter just understands that with the badge comes a greater responsibility to stay out of bar-type, potentially unlawful situations.

Where some officers view the badge as a pass to "get out of jail" for any type of personal conduct, Voter believes that the badge is something which should elicit better behavior from the individual who wears it. Sorry, Voter would have just arrested that WPD guy at the scene, and this controversy on vindy.com would have been avoided.

Do not mistake my words; 99.9% of WPD are good, conscientious officers. But this above situation, and, the public responses on this forum to it, trouble me.

I've always found Dan Hudak to be a decent human being and think that this whole situation has been blown way out of proportion. I mean what do we really know about this Liberty police officer he was the one that truly started this all. I don't see anyone posting stuff on the Liberty officer's past, the officer's character or even what bars that officer hangs out at. Dan Hudak has been embarrassed enough over this whole ordeal leave him alone already!

What a joke! Blame the Liberty cop for doing his job? Give poor Dan a break because he is embarrassed enough? Do you think Kovach is embarrassed? Maybe we should give him a break too! Most people who act like asses is public are embarrassed when they sober up and have to face the world the next day. It does not excuse the behavior. Nothing will happen to him anyway. If all the Warren cops with alcohol issues were forced into counseling a lot of bars would go out of business.

a friend...

The Liberty cop was working, on patrol and arrested a woman with an outstanding warrant. If he'd have let her go I'd be questioning him. I commend the Liberty cop for doing his job despite the behavior of Hudak. Hudak should be ashamed of his behavior. What rights does he have? What is he doing arguing a warrant? Another black eye for the Warren PD!

I praise Hudak for presenting an honest report regarding the evening of this so-called event. Too bad Mr. Liberty couldn't be as honest. Mr. Liberty initiated the confrontation with poor language and unjustified threats. This threat and behavior is what caused Hudak to behave the way he did. Let me remind you, Mr. Liberty was on duty. Hudak was not.

Both of these were a-holes. Has anyone heard how the policeman that was burned in that car is doing? I heard so many say he was a good cop. My prayers go out to him. For the ones who beat torture tazer then lie about it ..hellfire will taste good to you. NOT!

So if this is even true then why is Mr. Liberty not under investigation.
The only officer I hear that came under investigation was this Warren police officer with the wanted felon girlfriend.

Girlfriend cleared of felon charge filed by crazy ex-husband. Move on. Hudak and girlfriend continue close relationship...These are the Days of Your Pathetic Lives!!!

Liberty could not arrest because his behavior was equally if not worse. He wrote a report in fear of being reported. Liberty's report was the one brought to the media. Five or six other witnesses reported on the matter and not everyone favored this Liberty guy's behavior. The fact is, it isn't news worthy. WPD admitted their involvement in their personal statements, Liberty guy covered up his actions in his own personal statement.

There is WPD's statements, Liberty's statement....and somewhere in between there is the truth. Only those who were present truly know. The fact that people chose to base an opinion on allegations is sad. That is what this community is come down to...a community filled with hatred and gossip.
