Liberty Patrol Officer George Bednar wrote a report filled with lies and holes. Patrolman Dennis Laskey had to call Bednar back to the girl Bednar left in handcuffs standing in the middle of the Niles Police Department parking lot, while he initiated an argument with WPD dispatcher and Dan Hudak. Also, the girl arrested was not driving the car, she was a backseat passanger that was pumping gas at a gas station. The WPD dispatcher was the driver of the vehicle and was sitting in the driver's seat when Bednar approached the vehicle. Bednar never once when to the driver and asked who she was or for her identification. He already knew what Roger's looked like, that is why he went straight to her and not the driver. This pullover is strongly believed to have been a arranged by Kyle Rogers, who has a conviction of domestic violence and continues to harrass his ex-wife through the courts, because he can't personally get to her to to a TPO. Also, the arrest occured one hour earlier than Bednar reported. Bednar held the girl up in Liberty for two hours, then personally cancelled the transfer with Niles. Niles did not cancel the transfer as Bednar wants everyone to believe. Niles Chief Simeone is after Laskey's ass, or he would kindly clearify that statement. The felony charge was also dropped. But all we care about is nailing a WPD officer, despite that he has had a clean record and several honorary mentions for his work with the WPD over the last 18 or so years. Hudak's statement states he lost his barings, he admitted to language following personal statements and fowl language used by Bednar. A man in uniform, on duty, should have handled himself in a more professional manner. He should not have walked over to the lobby doors where Hudak was standing, though he lies and claims Hudak jumped out of a vehicle, and start an argument with the dispatcher and Hudak. He should of completed his job and been out of there, allowing Niles to quickly take over. No one told the girl she had to be in court the following Monday, it was Hudak who had informed her once she was safe at home.

hudak definitely needed firing for tasering that woman who was defenseless against him. he is nothing but a bully that gets his kicks out of kicking other defenseless people around. i hope that any cop who behaves in that manner is fired & never given the chance to ever wear the badge again. all they do is cause more problems for the decent cops.

If what you say is true then why was Bednar the only officer involved to not come under an IA investigation in all of this?

Surely if your claims are true his police chief and other various police administrators involved would have seen though these "lies and holes" as you put it.
And isn't Patrolman Laskey also in trouble now for his part in this somehow?

While I agree with you that there is more to this story than what has been reported, I don't see how this whole arrest could have been somekind of arranged setup.
How could Bednar have known that the woman in question with the warrant was going to be at that specific location at that specific time?
I just can't see this being a pre-arranged setup. Local cops in this valley just aren't that smart.

Wrong officer, wrong topic. That was some cop named Ricky.

I agree. However, court records in Mahoning County have a confession from a private investigator hired by Rogers ex-husband Kyle Rogers, that he did just that a few years ago. When there is to TPO and custody battles, ex's will do just about anything.

There are reports by other officers that Bednar's behavior was just that, unprofessional. Why Warren officials don't jump on that is unknown. I believe that would be up to the chief after reviewing all the reports. Maybe that's why this issue hasn't been resolved. I feel the Liberty police chief put his foot in his mouth, before reading the other officer's reports. Again, I commend Hudak for providing his personal feelings and actions in the arguement with Bednar. I don't believe it to be a confession of guilt, but that he was upset with Bednar's behavior. He could have arrested Rogers without the comments, threats and fowl language. After all, Rogers was noted as being cooperative. Bednar lost his bearings after the third person, which was Hudak, asked him what this was all about. He ommitted information and added lies, such as Hudak jumped out of a vehicle at Niles Police Department. He also claims to have done a registration run prior to pulling in behind the parked vehicle at the gas station, but never approached the driver. He also claims that the arrest took place one hour before it actually did. Then he claimed Niles cancelled the exchange, when he personally cancelled the exchange. Bednar was also the to say he will kick Hudak's ass. Hudak responded to his second threat. Hudak did not "rip" off his shirt. Hudak attempted to remove a fleece pullover and t-shirt came with. I guess I will give Bednar that, I see how you can twist it into something it wasn't. Bednar a 100% honest man, I think not. Bednar was also informed that the person who pressed the charges was Rogers' ex-husband, Kyle Rogers. He was also aware of the TPO and should have provided that information in her arrest report so that her address was not placed in the newspaper. He later stated that he knew nothing about the TPO. Again another lie. I love how he left Rogers handcuffed in the parking lot alone, while he went to argue with Hudak. Rogers and Niles cop Laskey called Bednar back to her. Niles cop is accused of not doing anything with Hudak. That would have been something, especially since Laskey witnessed Bednar approaching Hudak leaving Rogers unattended. He was the one to call Bednar back and escort him into the building with Rogers. Did Laskey do nothing? No, he ended the potential problem and brought Rogers in for proper booking. Laskey then claims Hudak was screaming at him as he left the building. Others will verify he was inside the lobby with the bondsman when Bednar left.

Warren cop is dating a woman with an active FELONY warrant. BAD idea.

Liberty cop locates woman and attempts to apprehend her. GOOD idea.

Warren cop, instead of assisting in the arrest, as is his duty as a cop, interferes with the arrest. BAD idea.

Liberty cop proceeds with arrest anyways. GOOD idea.

That's makes the score Liberty 2, Warren -2.

Again, you got all the wrong information. Hudak never interfered. The arguement happened once the girl was taken to Niles, already booked and held up in Liberty for two hours. Girl was left alone in parking lot by Liberty officer so he could approach Hudak...Liberty guy intersepted his own arrest proceeding. Liberty guy had to be called back by girl in handcuffs and Niles officer to come inside of Niles Police Department. Those are the facts...
