I am out of town and get my "hometown" news for Vindy.com. I must of missed something, why was there a party for Manula? Who funded it? Where did the profits go? Was it a political fundraiser for a furture run? State house maybe senate? US house or Senate? I just can't imagine why a town of approx. 10,000 would have such a big to do (wasn't there but according to the blog) and charge for tickets if it wasn't an political fundraiser.

Matter of fact, I have yet to see a governor or a senator have a party and charge people to come to honor their service. It just seems strange.

Overall, when money changes hands for a party that involves politics it is usually a fundraiser.

You live here. And you are a regular. We all know because of the way you write. And you make the same mistake every time. We've told you about it, but you never get it.

The party for Dan Mamula was a thank you for his accomplishments. Not a fund raiser. It was strictly a party for those who love him. And it was standing room only. Wonderful turnout and exceptionally intelligent people in attendance.

You are a really ignorant person. This was specifically a night to honor Dan.

No fund raising or political stuff involved. Just great people honoring a superb person. What a tribute! Wow! What a turnout we had!

You are too stupid to see that. You think that it was all about a town? BTW, Struthers is a City.

That is the problem with some in Struthers - and you.

Mamula succeeded because he knew and worked with - many in higher offices. That is why Ryan, Hagan, etc. were there.

Everyone loves him - what a loss for Struthers God help us.

OK..let me clarify.

Allow me to educate you. You need to get out more, sv

Here is how things work:

1) A committee gets together and decides to plan a party. It's a surprise party. The honoree knows the date, that's it.
2) Several committee members plan the party and decide upon venue, menu, entertainment, etc.
3) Send invites
4) Determine that invites cannot cover all who wish to attend.
5) Try to accommodate all of the peole wishing to honor Mayor Dan.

We were able to welcome all who wished to attend. Barely. It was SRO.

The Mayor is loved and the event was overwhelming

And YOU ask 'Why was there a party for Mamula'?????? ARE YOU STUPID??? Did you think it was just people in Struthers? Everyone in the county was there!!!! Do you think a Mayor only needs support in his own town/City? Don't you realize he must work with County and State officials? Get your blinders off.

Have a nice day, sv.

Heard drunken Dan Yemma got bodily thrown out of Elmton, seems to be following in his idol Mamula's footsteps. Now that's a partae' I would have paid to see.
