GREAT MORE TAXES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does Carol not understand, if everyone rode the bus, they would not be in financial hardships and not have to place a levy on the ballot. The reason WRTA is in trouble is no one want to ride it.

"On December 1, 1997 the Canton Regional Transit Authority (CRTA) following the successful passage of a sales tax levy which replaced Canton RTA’s property tax, began operation as the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA). According to the RCW, establishing SARTA as Stark County’s mobility provider, the agency would provide service to all of Stark County, Ohio."

If we pass this sales tax, we could have a county wide system, too.

You know I probably would consider voting on this tax. Everyone deserves this form of transportation. Hey, most people that ride the bus don't do so because they're degenerates. But those rude, heartless, arrogant, and inconsiderate jerks that drive the buses, are the main reason I will not vote for the tax. I have worked downtown for years and trek past the bus station on occasion. Those SOB's will run you right over if you are not careful, and will do it with a smile, as they speed out of their lot. Want to save money??? Screw the bus drivers, cut their jobs. This isn't New York City, how many bus drivers does the City of Y-town need. Obviously this city was too small to have too many news stations, I say the bus drivers are next. So those who need this tax to pass, thank your friendly driver for my vote against the tax.

I have no problem paying for your car if you are going to let everyone in Mahoning county use it when they want. Is it a nice car?

I've been on the bus when this happens. Usually, when the drivers are rude like that, it's because they've already been waiting there for 5 minutes, and are late and/or are making everyone in line behind them late. Before they cut the Austintown route down to what it is now, (a straight shot down Mahoning Ave.) it took just about an hour to make the round trip. So, they would be more aggressive trying to get out of the station because they didn't want to be progressively late for the following runs. (and make people miss the bus they might be transfering to)

NO NEW TAXES!!!
SCREW THE WESTERN RESERVE THIEVING ASSISTANCE!
All the bus service does is easily transport shoplifters from their homes to the stores and back again.
Let them pay for it.
Raise the the fees for tokens or whatever

Exact change is required. Drivers do not carry cash. (Fares are based on one-way trips)

Regular Adult $1.25
Senior/Disabled* $ .60
Student (with proper I.D.) $ .75
Trolley $ .30
Trolley (Senior/Disabled) $ .15
Special Services Transportation $2.00
Transfers** $ .25
Transfers(Senior/Disabled) $ .10
Children under 6 (with fare paying adult) Free

*Seniors age 62 or older (with proper I.D.) To receive the Disabled discount, you must show the proper
SSI Medicare/Medicaid Card.


**Transfers are only valid for one hour, and can only be used to travel in one direction.

Monthly passes and coupon books can only be purchased at Federal Station, 340 Federal Plaza West.

The tax probably won't pass so the issue is moot. It won't make much difference to me either way, The fact is that WRTA will go away like so many other things we've lost in the Valley. No area can progress or be successful without a operating mass transit system. The Valley is DEAD and will continue to decline. Look what is already happening to Boardman. Who cares?
