This is bad. People shouldn't be forced to leave their animals behind, they are their family members! Please, make the government change its mind. Thank you.

People are more important than animals. What jerk is going to tell a person that there is room for animals but not for people? Oh, that's right, a PETA member would.

GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK! These nutjobs (PETA) think that in this time of major crisis we need to be worrying about things that are walking around on four legs, and pissing/pooping in the yard??

I say if the owners are whining enough about the "leaving FIDO behind" that they should leave the OWNER behind and take FIDO instead. I will bet they change their mind really quick if that happened.

Great idea! Tell them either they can go OR the mutt, but not both. That should help them get their priorities straight. Not a question of whether you love animals or not, just common sense.

Let me get this straight, PETA is telling me that I must pay to rescue animals who’s owners have chosen to live in Lebanon? The owners have no responsibility in caring for themselves, their families let alone their pets? For weeks they were advised to leave and choose not to until I as a taxpayer would pay for it, and now it is my fault their animals were left behind ? How many calls did PETA really receive, four or five? Were those calls from evacuees or from PETA members in the USA who were “concerned” that the animals would be left behind?

This is nothing but another publicity stunt by PETA to grab headlines when others are suffering. It is their modus-operandi, make outrageous statements with few facts to back it up and draw on compassion to rake in more donations.

Now if you want a valid cause to donate to, think of P.A.P.A. and the good work they foster. PAPA (short for People Against Plant Abuse) fights for the rights of all plants not to be mutilated to make salads or trodden on as a form of recreation and sport. Don’t get me started on the horror of the torture known euphemistically as ‘mowing the grass’. Don’t laugh, this makes as much or more sense than PETA!
