Hello,

We have a vision of being a part of the rebuilding of Youngstown. My husband is a Y-Town native of the East Side and it's been placed on our hearts to relocate.

The problem is, we don't know where to start, and whom to deal with....we're hoping to find some information about purchasing vacant lots and abandoned buildings and schools...key areas of interest on the East Side, i.e. North Truesdale Avenue, to begin.

Please reply with any info, that is valuable....not negative!

Betsy -

Wanna know how to make a small fortune in Youngstown? Start with a large fortune.

Betsy, that's a good one! One of the funniest posts we've seen in a while. Do you have any more? Hope you're not running the same scam the towel head in San Diego tried. Getting ghetto houses for next to nothing from the city promising to restore them, collecting rents and not investing a dime. We don't have much here in the Valley, but our leaders aren't quite that stupid.

Betsy, make sure you figure double price for the materials you need since the brothers will be stealing it faster than you can use it. Maybe you can have some of the National Guard come in while you're attempting to restore everything. You should give this some serious thought and then forget it!!!!!

"but our leaders aren't quite that stupid."

$200,000 on feasibility studies for an indoor race track.

If any community would get scammed it would be ours. We just have the words "desparate" and "suckers" written all over our foreheads.

Pasty, on second thought you are probably right. It is amazing how much our locals are willing to spend on "studies" in order to try and save some money.
