Of COURSE Jay doesn't want to sell the water system - then he couldn't use it to BLACKMAIL everybody who isn't already stuck within the city limits of Youngstown. GET A CLUE PEOPLE! THIS GUY IS UP TO NOTHING BUT NO GOOD!

Groups from Boardman, Canfield and Austintown should get together and buy up properties in the city (for next to nothing) and change their address and become city residents so they can vote Mayor J out the door.
The Mayor's time is running out, if he doesn't start singing a different tune we won't have him back.

Where are the members of council on this entire discussion? Fifty million is a sizeable sum of money that could tear down a lot of deteriorting houses and jump start a renaissance.

Decision maker,
While I whole heartedly agree that 50 million is allot of money for Mr. Williams to turn his nose up to, it represents only half of the budget he used up last year in demolitions. Considering how great the financial problems of this city are, I do understand how this money may seem like a drop in the bucket BUT it could still do some good (like it could refurbish that God awful ugly green bridge downtown and then some). IF, the city were to maintain it's current amount of revenue from the water into the future with a lease to Aqua Ohio AND get the 50 million then to turn it down is asinine at best BUT if there were to be a greater loss in long term profits then perhaps Mr. Williams has a valid point. Since no real details have been hammered out and this idea has not even hit a formal proposal process, I think it would be prudent to reserve judgement and that should include those like Mayor Willams. To dismiss an idea out of hand with no information to back it up is idiotic. But then again, I did hear Mayor Williams call those who were worried about annexation (a valid fear that may or may not be backed by truth) "ignorant" on TV and that irked me a bit. He seems to be awfully reactive and defensive to this issue and I can't help but wonder why......

The Toad believes there was less than $2 million allocated in 2006 for demolitions by the city of Youngstown.

The parasite of Youngstown continues to survive. Q: When will this dirty filthy beast finally die? A: When it's host dies. In this case the host is obviously the suburbs. Honestly, in my opinion, the Valley is going to eventually fall further and the damage will be irreversible. Just imagine ghetto from Cortland to Columbiana. I just don't understand why there are people out the like Williams and DougK that want to speed up this process. Let it die a natural, slow, and honorable death. Don't make it commit suicide.
