Religious Hypocrites In Florida - Selective Seperation Of Church And State

Amendment 8 is on the ballot in Florida. Amendment 8 would strike down the ban on government monies going to fund religious institutions. Needless to say I am voting "no" on Amendment 8. I want an amendment that would tax religious properties and donations. If religious loonies and institutions cared as much for the living as the unborn, what a wonderful world this would be.

I am not familar with the Florida constitution. I do know there is not a "Seperation Of Church And State" in the U.S. constitution. Is there such a thing in Florida? If so can you please show us it please?

Under the 1st Amendment the government can pay religious institutions to do non-religious work. That's always been allowed.

Yes there is such a thing in Florida. It is called the Baine Amendment which specifies no state aid to religious institutions. Been on the books since 1885.
Amendment 8 is an attempt by Governor Rick Scott and his Teaparty cohorts to dismantle public education in favor of public funding of private and religious education.
Ironic the same individuals bellyaching about the national debt and the need to trim food stamps have no qualms about throwing public monies at religious loonies and cults.
They are hoping people anticipating social justice in the next life will be socially apathetic in this life.
Needless to say I am voting no on Amendment 8.
