Berlin state park has nice wooded lots. Read on another site the crappie are hitting.

Berlin is probably the best State campground around here.

The camps are fairly private with clumps of trees betweeen them. Many are right up against the lake for tying off a boat.

The State campground at Guilford is like city living without walls. They have a small area that they pack everybody into with only a few feet in between, and a road going around it. It sucks.

There are also State grounds at Mosquito, West Branch, and Geneva on the Lake with a beach on Lake Erie.

If you want a more permanent site, there are private campgrounds with lakes too. I can think of chapparrel on Middletown Rd. by 45, and Western Reserve Lake is also close to 45 in Ellsworth.

Ponderosa Park on 45 sucks.

All of the above mentioned State Parks also have private owned campgrounds nearby that usually cost about $1000 per season.

If your looking for a place to keep the kids interested, Jellystone in Aurora is great. My kids love it. They have guests dress up as Yogi, Boo Boo, and Cindy, every night right before they show about three Yogi cartoons on an outdoor screen.

Nice pool, and a lake to swim in. Miniature golf, hayrides, (no hay) twice a day. You can rent a boat and go fishing in the lake.
